New Year's Resolution(s)

I've decided that there are several things I would like to do in the New Year. Over the last year I have come to the realisation that I am sadly one who looks at and admires the skills of others, wishes fondly that I could do the same, but never actually pursue these things. Therefore! This year, I am going to do my best to make sure I at least TRY to participate in the things that I love and interest me. Here is a working list;

1) Have planned at least 1 wedding for a someone by the end of the year
2) Have set up some sort of gameplan for the possibility of becoming a wedding planner
3) Take a culinary course
4) Take a photography course
5) Develop a sense of motivation! haha in order to be consistant about exercising.
6) try making a new food dish at least once a week.
7) be creative whenever possible :)

That's all for now, but I'm sure I'll think of more. :)

Where the Tree Tops Glisten...

So it is 10 days til christmas and I've yet to buy any christmas gifts! how terrible is that? Granted there isn't really any money to buy christmas gifts with, but even so, not even bought stocking stuffers. for shame! I have, however; managed to decorate a little in the flat, which has made everything feel a little more christmasy.

I've put lights on the mantle piece, but obviously not in this photo.

I have since put fairy lights around the frame.

I wish i had a better camera...
Anyway, Merry Christmas!

oops

Note to self: check spelling of important titles before saving forever!

my husband informed me i've spelled Geordy incorrectly, and considering he is one...it is deeply offensive to him. I feel ashamed. And I don't think I can change the title of the blog once it's made!! :P Doh.

Our Wedding

So Ithought I'd finally put up some photos of a few elements of our wedding. The following are a few photos of the invitations which my super talented husband designed himself. We had a very very limited budget so ended up getting them printed at your average commercial printers, so although ideally in a world where money is no object we would have loved to have them letterpressed, i think they turned out pretty awesome.

I need some better photos. Will take and post some of all the individual pieces of the invites, as well as our save the date card which we also made ourselves!

Should also say that our method for addressing the invites was a brilliant idea i found on www.Oncewed.com in the diy section where you print in a similar colour to the envelopes the address onto the envelope itself and then proceed to write over the writing so create some much better handwriting than would have otherwise appeared. Plus you save money on hiring a colligrapher.

Smooth like butter...

These are a few dresses I was coveting on Etsy from sarahseven's shop (her website is www.sarahseven.com.) Such beautiful dresses,...a few 100 over my price range but gorgeous none-the-less.

free. cake.

Here are some photos of the city i'll be living in....Newcastle. :) the toon.

A couple of weeks ago I went to see Paul in Newcastle. Since it was easter weekend he got a long weekend which meant he was free all day Monday to spend time with me :). We decided to go to John Lewis and make up our gift list. It was so much fun! We really enjoyed that extra time together and the chance to look around the lovely John Lewis. We also got free cake and tea for being customers! always up for some free cake...

My first blog entry...

This is my first blog entry! As the title says...

I am hoping I can update it frequently but bets are it'll be pretty sparce. I plan on using this blog to update on plans for our wedding in July, photos and images of designs I like, websites I enjoy, and updates on Paul and my future life together as husband and wife.

At the moment I am finishing up my final two weeks as a University student, Paul is sitting his part 3 exams for architecture while working in Newcastle, and I am very much looking forward to being able to begin planning our wedding properly. A lot A LOT to do in a very short amount of time, but it'll get done :).

Well that is all for now,

Jess
